From Martin County Sheriff’s Office: Suspects in attack

Martin County Sheriff William D. Snyder has announced the arrest of three men in connection with the attempted murder and brutal robbery of 49-year old Timothy Michael Bowker, a cab driver from Port St. Lucie.

The US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, including members of the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, and Martin County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Detectives traveled to Orlando yesterday morning and apprehended 22-year old Lawrence Flood Jr., who has been charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder and Armed Robbery.  Flood was just about to board a bus to Disney World when detectives arrested him.  Arrested earlier was 21 year old Nicholas Monaco of Ft. Pierce, and 25-year old John Cilluffo of Jensen Beach.  Cilluffo and Monaco have been charged with Aggravated Battery and Armed Robbery.

Timothy Bowker was robbed, beaten and stabbed inside his cab Thursday, May  17th , around midnight as he waited outside a Jensen Beach business in anticipation of picking up a customer who called in for a ride. That customer, who falsely identified himself as Asony Moore, was actually Lawrence Flood Jr.  When the victim arrived for the pick-up, the three men brutally beat than robbed him.  The victim suffered major injuries after being stabbed repeatedly around the head and neck.  He is clinging to life at a local hospital.  “The attack on Mr. Bowker, who was simply trying to work hard and earn a living for his family, was one of the most brutal and vicious attacks I have ever seen,” said Sheriff William D. Snyder.  “We traveled to Orlando to make sure that every last suspect involved in this brutal crime was located and arrested.” John Cilluffo and Nicholas Monaco are being held at the Martin County jail.  Lawrence Flood Jr., is being transported back to Martin County by the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force. Flood will be charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder.
