Town of Jupiter Island threatens to sue Martin County over inlet dredging

Jupiter Island Town Mayor Harry Charlston wrote to Martin County Commission Chairman Ed Ciampi on November 16: “the town intends to consider and employ, if necessary, all legal avenues it has to force the county to properly maintain the inlet and compensate the erosional impacts of the inlet.”

The town has also asked the county to complete the dredging job this spring instead of waiting to finish when money might become available.
