Tiger’s latest comeback begins this week at a familiar place

A brief summer comeback was a washout, and Woods finished the season with only eight tournament appearances. He missed the cut three times and withdrew twice, prompting the now-standard speculation that his career is kaput. (Source: The Orlando Sentinel)

From The Orlando Sentinel: Tiger Woods will unveil himself this week at Isleworth Golf & Country Club. The name of the tournament is the Hero World Challenge, though it’s essentially the Tiger Woods Invitational. Not only will his return be the focal point, only 18 players will compete in the event benefitting Woods’ foundation. After 15 years in Southern California, the tournament is moving to Isleworth with opening round Thursday.

Last week was the five-year anniversary of the most famous midnight ride since Paul Revere. Woods was initially reported in serious condition after his SUV hit a fire hydrant near his Isleworth home.

Woods relocated to a 10,000-square foot bachelor pad on Jupiter Island three years ago. That’s where he’s been rehabbing his back after undergoing disc surgery in March.
