The $43.76 million question: Will Martin Commission alter growth rules for huge land deal?

The Stuart News’ Eve Samples writes about the $43.76 million land deal that has upped the ante in the South County development game:

“We haven’t seen a deal of this magnitude since the earliest days of the Great Recession.

With little fanfare on Monday, the owners of an ailing citrus grove west of Hobe Sound sold 2,823 acres to a New York-based development company.

The buyer and seller were mum about the price of the property known as Hobe Grove, but public records show Midbrook 1st Realty paid $43.76 million.”
