Stuart native Nicole Walch earns All-America honors

Nicole Walch will be honored at the 2014 AVCA All-American banquet in Oklahoma City.


The American Volleyball Coaches Association has announced that Florida State University Junior outside hitter Nicole Walch has been named to the AVCA All-America Second Team. .

The Stuart native led the Seminoles in kills with 487, averaging 3.99 per set while hitting .267 percent. She also led in aces with 25 and in total points with 557.5, averaging 4.57 per set. Walch added 305 digs and 59 total blocks.

In 2014, she accounted for 15 double-doubles, while setting a new match high of 25 kills in the 3-2 win at Clemson. Walch amassed 20 or more kills in six matches this season, while securing three ACC Player of the Week awards before earning All-ACC First Team accolades.

Walch also captured All-Region honors from the NCAA Tournament for the second-straight season behind her double-double performance of 23 kills, 10 digs in the 3-1 loss against BYU.
