Stolen property recovered from HS home, seeking 29-year-old suspect

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on the whereabouts of 29-year-old Shane Andrew Staton.

Staton is wanted in connection with an armed burglary that took place on 4/30/2105.

He is also wanted in for questioning in connection to large amounts of stolen property recovered from a home along SE Hobe Ridge Drive in Hobe Sound. That is where Staton was staying with family members.

Shane Staton was recently released from prison in 2013, and was identified by witnesses as the suspect seen breaking into a home along Crossrip Street in Hobe Sound. At that time he was seen driving a dark car with Ohio plates.

Last night, detectives served a search warrant on the home where Staton was staying with his sister.

Investigators recovered large amounts of stolen property belonging to multiple victims, from Martin, Palm Beach, and other Counties.

29-YEAR OLD ARMED BURGLARY SUSPECT ELUDING DEPUTIES, FOUND WALKING IN PALM BEACH COUNTY CARRYING VICTIM’S STOLEN SUITCASE

The 29-year old man responsible for an armed burglary April, 30th, in Hobe Sound, as well as numerous burglaries throughout the area, was captured this morning in Palm Beach County.

Alert Palm Beach County Deputies recognized 29-year old Shane Staton walking near a hotel. Staton was carrying a suitcase belonging to a burglary victim. Inside the suitcase, was more stolen property. Staton was taken to the Palm Beach County Jail and will be transported back to Martin County next week.
