WPBF: Special liquor license will help small Martin County restaurants like Harry and the Natives

WPBF reports that a change in state legislation is helping small business owners in Martin County’s Community Redevelopment Areas. The legislation, passed in 2011, amended state statutes to create an exception for businesses located within the boundaries of Martin County’s CRAs seeking to obtain a Special Restaurant License.

Harry and the Natives, a restaurant located within the Hobe Sound Community Redevelopment Area, is the first business to benefit from this change. Harry MacArthur is the owner. The special license will allow restaurant owners like MacArthur to be able to serve liquor and help level the playing field. In the past, MacArthur was only able to serve beer and wine.
