Rash of Hobe Sound auto burglaries solved after deputy catches duo with stolen property

A suspicious homeowner gave deputies just enough time and information to end a rash of auto burglaries happening in Hobe Sound over the past few weeks.

21-year old Edwin Alsdorf, and his girlfriend, 21-year old Kristen Koklis, both of Hobe Sound, were arrested after a homeowner on SE Coconut Street in Hobe Sound called 911 to say his vehicle had just been burglarized.

The homeowner was able to give dispatchers a description of a car he noticed leaving his property.
The suspect’s car also hit one of his parked vehicles before it took off.
Within minutes a deputy spotted that suspect car. Alsdorf and Koklis were both inside, as was the stolen property from the home on SE Coconut Street.The pair later admitted to detectives that they were responsible for a number of auto burglaries in the area.
Detectives served a search warrant at the suspect’s home on SE Sand Castle Circle in Hobe Sound, retrieving a number of stolen items such as wallets, fishing gear, and sunglasses.Alsdorf and Koklis were transported to the Martin County jail. Alsdorf was charged with grand theft and armed trespassing, Koklis was charged with grand theft and trespassing.
There is no bond until first appearance.
