Prepare for change in Martin County’s growth plan

Award-winning Palm Beach Post blogger Sally Swartz: Electing a careful growth majority to the Martin County Commission doesn’t mean residents get a long nap. “You have to keep coming to meetings, have opinions and watch out for your neighborhoods,” former commissioner Maggy Hurchalla said.

Some controversial proposed changes include requiring a super majority of  4 of 5 commissioners to approve growth plan changes in particularly critical areas, such as Martin’s four-story height limit, changes to the urban boundary, protection of wetlands and density limits.
