Ponzi scheme suspects selling dilapidated Rio Village Mobile Home Park to Martin County

The owners of the rundown Rio Village Mobile Home Park on East Martin Avenue along Dixie Highway in Rio have agreed to sell the 2.5-acre property to Martin County. But county commissioners were not aware of a multimillion-dollar fraud investigation involving the property owners when they reached a deal to buy the property, according to TCPalm.

“It doesn’t surprise me in the slightest, but I did not know it,” said Commissioner Anne Scott, an opponent of the deal whose legal career included a stint as a state judge in Illinois.
