PBPost: Palm Beach County decides to stay in Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council

Palm Beach County commissioners voted Tuesday to have their county remain a member of the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council.

Splitting from Treasure Coast, whose members include Palm Beach, St. Lucie, Indian River and Martin counties, would have been difficult to achieve because it would require a unanimous vote from all council members.

Some commissioners, concerned about what they described as a lack of diversity in Treasure Coast’s leadership and the $300,000-plus annual dues required as a member of the council, had expressed an interest in moving away from Treasure Coast and joining the South Florida Regional Planning Council instead.
