PB Post: Jupiter Island names new head of Public Safety Department

Annual pay for the position is $110,500. The department has 24 full- and part-time employees.

Garlo, 60, takes over from retiring Jupiter Island Director of Public Safety Ted Gonzales, who last week announced his last day will be April 1. Gonzales, 55, has served about 34 years with the Martin County coastal community of about 840 residents that is the home of Tiger Woods and last year was named as one of the 10 wealthiest communities in the nation by The Wall Street Journal.
