Palm Beach Post: Should the feds let Florida make decisions about Lake Okeechobee?

Though they were distracted Thursday by the shooting near the U.S. Capitol, those who gathered to protest releases from Lake Okeechobee to the St. Lucie River got their message out: The river, along with Indian River Lagoon, is dying as the releases of polluted fresh water pummel marine life in the St. Lucie estuary and the lagoon.

The sense from members of Congress was that the corps and the water district should cooperate better.
