For instance, Swartz adds: the Tallahassee-based Committee to Protect Florida, has paid for newspaper ads and mailings for Martin commission candidates Patrick Hayes and Brandon Tucker, who both support unbridled growth. In one mailing, Mr. Hayes paints himself as a fund-raising underdog, citing the small campaign fund he reports to the Martin supervisor of elections.

That’s misleading. The Tallahassee PAC paying for Mr. Hayes’ ads and mailings has collected more than $1.2 million.
