Palm Beach Post: ‘Heroic’ efforts restore and repair Martin’s gutted growth plan

From The Palm Beach Post’s Sally Swartz: Tuesday was a happy day for Martin County residents, a day many who watched previous commissions gut the county’s protective growth plan worried they might never see.

Former commissioner Maggy Hurchalla, who helped create the original plan and is a court-recognized expert on it,  has led public workshops and worked on the changes with the county’s growth management staff since shortly after the new commission was elected in August. Commissioner Anne Scott called their efforts “heroic.”
