NYTimes: Judge picks voting map in Florida

Florida’s long battle over congressional districts approached its finale on Friday when a state judge rejected maps drafted by the Republican Legislature and approved one drawn by the challengers in the lawsuit — a coalition of voter-rights groups and Democratic-leaning individuals.

The lawsuit, brought by the League of Women Voters and Common Cause of Florida after districts were redrawn in 2012, accused the Legislature of violating the Fair District amendments to the Florida Constitution.
