MCSO Public Health Notification: HIV-infected local man fails to disclose condition to partners

This is a first degree felony.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office arrested 22-year old Joshua McNamee, a resident of Palm City, on charges of Failing to Disclose an STD Prior to Having Sexual Intercourse.

After receiving a tip, criminal investigations detectives immediately launched an investigation into McNamee, who is known as “Palm Tree” to his acquaintances.

He admitted to having unprotected sexual intercourse with local females without disclosing the fact that he was HIV positive.

MCSO Criminal Investigations Division has identified some victims, but are very concerned there are multiple young women who have had sexual contact with McNamee, and are unaware that he is HIV positive.

If you are a victim, MCSO asks you to call Sergeant Yesenia Carde, at (772) 220-7187. Information will be held in the strictest of confidence.

If you choose not to report that you are a victim, MCSO urges you to seek medical attention specifically pertaining to this individual.

HIV can be life threatening if not treated.
