Martin Library System offers free finance course beginning April 24

Money $mart will be offered Tuesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., April 24 through May 15 at the Hobe Sound Public Library, 10595 SE Federal Highway. Advance registration is required.

Topics covered in the program include, but are not limited to:

• Saving vs. investing

• Creating a budget and goals

• Emergency funds

• Allocation and diversification

• Tax strategies

• Types of investments

Steve Littauer, banking/investing expert and author of several financial publications will serve as course instructor.

In addition to receiving free investment education, participants who complete the course will receive a free subscription to Money Magazine.

“Money $mart provides all the basics for those who are new to investing or are looking to sharpen their skills,” said Susan Perez, family and early childhood literacy specialist at the Blake Library. “We are thrilled to present this free program to our friends and neighbors throughout Martin County thanks to a grant provided by FINRA.”
