Martin County residents would get time to review any changes under proposed growth plan

Maggy Hurchalla, nationally renowned five-term Martin County Commissioner

The changes to the Martin County comprehensive growth management plan, spearheaded by former county commissioner Maggy Hurchalla, are on their way to final approval, county commissioners decided Tuesday, according to TCPalm.

Should the proposed comp plan amendments meet final approval, residents will see a change in how commissioners make decisions on various development project, including a “cooling off” period that prevents changes to a comp plan amendment seven days before any public hearing to allow the public to fairly evaluate the proposed changes.
