With four confirmed cases of the measles on the Treasure Coast in St. Lucie County and Indian River County, doctors in Martin County are stepping up efforts to make sure their patients do not catch or spread the disease, according to WPTV.

Doctors worry unvaccinated children could make other unvaccinated children sick if they’re carrying the virus and do not know it.

It can take weeks for measles symptoms to show up.
