Mark your calendar: Community Allies Forum on racism and law enforcement in Martin County

On Thursday, August 25th, 7PM,  Community Allies will present a respectful discussion on how racism and racial bias impact interactions between law enforcement and citizens here in our community.

The event will be held at Ground Floor Farm, located at 100 SE Martin Luther King Boulevard in Stuart.

The evening will feature a panel discussion with David N. Addison, J.D., Educator; Lloyd Jones, retired Law Enforcement Officer; Desmond Meade, Civil Rights Activist, and Robert J. Watson, Esq., Criminal Defense Attorney.

A Q&A and small group discussion will follow.

A free, light dinner will be served beginning at 6:30pm.

This is the first in a series of three forums planned on the broad, complex subject of Race, Racism & The Legal System.

This forum addresses the arrest phase.

Future forums will address the trial phase and incarceration.

This event is the fifth installment in a series exploring definitions of racism, and how it is made manifest within our own community.

Community Allies urges you to  invite your friends, family, and colleagues for a respectful and fascinating discussion.
