JB man charged with unlicensed practices of health care, acupuncture, nutritional counseling

Martin County Special Investigations Detectives arrested a Jensen Beach man charging with him unlicensed practice of a health care practitioner, unlicensed practice of acupuncture, and unlicensed nutritional counseling and practice.Shantug Edinburgh was taken into custody following an undercover operation, where he performed procedures which required a specific medical license.
Edinburg, who identifies himself as Dr. Shantug, is not currently licensed in those fields.
Detectives arrested Edinburgh at his place of business at 1855 NE Jensen Beach Boulevard. The name on the facility door is, Temple Apothercary, Holistic Health & Healing.
According to detectives, Edinburgh performed a type of acupressure and message after diagnosing an injury.
He then prescribed means of nutritional methods to help remedy the injury. He was taken to the Martin County jail on a $12,300 bond.
