Ft. Lauderdale men pursued by deputies in land/air manhunt in Palm City

Martin County Sheriff’s Office reports that this Ft. Lauderdale man didn’t get far after he and an accomplice attempted to cash a stolen check at a Palm City bank late this afternoon.

A suspicious teller alerted deputies, then the suspects fled on foot prompting a brief manhunt.

Uniform Patrol Deputies with the 300-Shift set up a perimeter by land and air, and caught both suspects within 30-minutes.

The Stuart based company where the check originated from had already been victimized for nearly $20,000 in stolen and fraudulent checks.

Investigators will be looking further into the suspects involvement into the stolen checks.

Both suspects are from Ft. Lauderdale.
