[Jupiter Island resident] John Textor, the key executive who presided over the spectacular collapse and bankruptcy of famed vfx house Digital Domain, was sued a couple years back by the state of Florida, which alleged that he and other executives had defrauded Florida taxpayers of tens of millions of dollars, Cartoon Brew reports.

The results of a settlement in the case were announced today, and John Textor won $8.5 million.

The city of Port St. Lucie gave Digital Domain nearly $52 million in incentives and land, and the state of Florida, which handed Digital Domain $20 million, will each receive somewhere in the neighborhood of $3 million each.
