Florida to get $12 billion for roads, bridges, transit

Tallahassee.com reports that Florida will get nearly $12 billion to improve roads, bridges and transit systems over the next five years under a massive transportation bill that President Obama signed into law Friday.

The $305 billion measure is the first long-term transportation bill Congress has passed in a decade. It provides Florida about $1 billion more than it would have gotten under current funding formulas.
