FL Select Committee Workshop on IRL to meet August 22 at Stuart’s Kane Center

The Florida Senate Select Committee Workshop to Explore Short-Term Solutions or Alternatives to Reduce or Eliminate Current Releases from Lake Okeechobee will be  held August 22nd, 1 – 9 pm at the Kane Center, 900 SW Salerno Road, Stuart.

State Senator Negron, US Representative Murphy (D), State representatives, county commissioners, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, South Florida Water Management, and US Army Corps of Engineers will all be in attendance. This workshop is for receiving expert and public testimony on activities affecting water management in the Indian River Lagoon and Lake Okeechobee Basin. Specifically, participants will be asked to discuss the short term options or alternatives to reduce or eliminate the current releases from Lake Okeechobee.
