From TCPalm: The slight haze and scent of smoke is drifting north to the Treasure Coast from an expansive uncontrolled Everglades fire in Broward County, said Melissa Yunas, a Florida Forestry Service spokeswoman.

Lightning sparked the fire that, as of Tuesday morning, was 19,500 acres and only 10 percent contained. Winds are blowing north and will continue to do so for the next few days at speeds from 5 to 10 mph, according to the National Weather Service in Melbourne.

The fire has the potential to grow.

It is in 70,000 acres of hard-to-reach forests and marsh.
