Council on Aging’s new Kane Clinic now accepting senior patients

Dr. Laura Beringer of The Council on Aging’s Kane Clinic, located at the new Charles and Rae Kane Center, 900 SE Salerno Road, between Kanner Highway and U.S. 1.

The Kane Clinic, open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., is a new satellite office for Board Certified Geriatrician, Dr. Laura Beringer. Also on staff is Elizabeth Van Horn, an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with experience in critical care.

The Kane Clinic has been developed in partnership with Martin Health System, with partial underwriting provided through the Retirement Research Foundation.

If you are a senior in need of a primary care physician, the Kane Clinic offers a unique opportunity to receive expert geriatric specialty medical care in a state-of-the-art setting that provides integrated services for seniors in need of assistance (from Meals on Wheels and an Adult Day Program to care management).

The goals of the Kane Clinic are to:
  • Increase the access of Martin County elders to needed health services through a geriatric-specialty clinic located within the Kane Center.
  • Increase the ability of elders with chronic diseases to access regular monitoring of symptoms and receive more immediate responses to changes in their conditions.
  • Create a seamless communications (electronic medical record) network with Martin Health System that results in improved patient care, especially for elders with serious and/or chronic conditions.
