Attend July 21 & 24 forums: Political races heat up the summer

The League of Women Voters of Martin County will present political forums on July 21 and July 24. The forums are co-sponsored by the American Association of University Women.

Your Voice Weekly details the upcoming League of Women Voters of Martin County political forums on Monday, July 21, and Thursday, July 24 at the Blake Library, 2351 SE Monterey Road, in Stuart, 6 to 8 p.m. The forums are co-sponsored by the American Association of University Women.

“We try to let (candidates) explain themselves,” Palm City’s Betty Paterson, forum chairwoman said. “We give them a chance to state who they are and why they’re running for office.”

On Monday, July 21, candidates for the Florida Senate District 32, Florida House of Representatives District 82, and Martin County School Board will appear at the league’s first forum.

On Thursday, July 24, the league and association will be back at the Blake with more candidates. That, too, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. This forum will have candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives District 18 and Martin County Board of Commissioners.
