Another high speed chase through Martin County ends in crash, fight and arrest

A Miami man is in custody facing numerous charges after leading Martin County Sheriff’s Deputies and Stuart Police on a high speed chase through Martin County Tuesday night.

The suspect, Neal Bochner (DOB 5/15/1963), of Miami was driving recklessly in a stolen car, when he rammed two Martin County Sheriff’s Office cruisers and a Stuart Police Car near the intersection of Colorado Avenue and SE Federal Highway.

The pursuit ended with the suspect crashing. Bochner got out of the stolen vehicle and began fighting officers.

K-9 Kwai was immediately deployed and was able to subdue the suspect. One deputy was also bitten by K-9 Kwai during the struggle. That deputy received minor injuries and is being treated at the hospital.

Bochner had drug paraphernalia in the car and may have also been drinking. He has an extensive criminal history dating back to 1981 with 9-felony convictions, one of them was for fleeing and eluding police in Miami. The remaining were drug related. He also has four misdemeanor convictions and numerous arrests. He is facing charges of aggravated fleeing and eluding, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and other charges.
