On Saturday, April 16, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., the University of Florida (UF) IFAS Extension Martin County Master Gardeners will host their annual Spring Plant Sale at the UF/IFAS Extension Martin County Office, located at 2614 SE Dixie Highway in Stuart.
This free event will feature a plant sale, educational tables, a Garden Treasures sale, and the Master Gardener Help Desk will be staffed and available to answer your gardening questions.
No credit cards, so the sale is cash or check only.
Educational tables being offered this year will include information on butterfly gardening, summer vegetables, and beekeeping.
The Florida Yards & Neighborhoods vegetable demonstration garden will be open for tours and questions.
The plants being offered for sale have all been propagated by the Martin County Master Gardeners and include herbs, bromeliads, natives, and many other species.
Funds raised are used to support Master Gardener education programs, scholarships, and community gardens. The University of Florida/IFAS Extension Service administers the Martin County Master Gardener program, training and providing continuing education for horticulture volunteers.
These trained Master Gardener volunteers provide residents with environmentally sound, research-based gardening information.
The goals of the program are to increase the availability of horticultural information for the community at large and to improve the quality of life for the residents of Martin County through horticultural volunteer activities.
